Simone Reid Richmond – A Story of Resilience, Purpose & Possibility
They say your past doesn’t define you—your decisions do.
But for Simone Reid Richmond, the past forged a deep well of understanding, empathy, and fire. Born into trauma, raised in poverty, and written off early in life, Simone’s first chapters were anything but easy. At 14, she was sitting her GCSEs while battling silent wounds, emotional neglect, and a broken home. Her socks were worn thin with overuse, her self-worth thinner still. The classroom couldn’t reach her—her pain was too loud.
But somewhere within her, a quiet voice still whispered: You are meant for more.
That whisper became a roar.
Simone’s life pivoted the day her parents organised a family trip to London and they visited the London Planetarium—a moment of awe that expanded her vision beyond her circumstances. She began to shift her mindset, build new habits, and anchor herself in purpose. That journey led to an honours degree in International Relations, an MSc in Human and Organisational Capacity Building for Development, and a powerful career dedicated to helping others transform.
At the heart of Simone’s transformation stood a quiet but powerful presence—her father. A giant in her eyes. He wasn’t just present; he was her anchor in the storm. Amidst a world that often overlooked her potential, her father believed in her, encouraged her, and showed her what it meant to champion others with strength, dignity and compassion. His unwavering support became a blueprint for the kind of leader she would later become. Simone proudly stands on the shoulders of the giants who championed her—and in doing so, has made it her life’s mission to be that champion for others.
Before founding The Dandelion Organisation Ltd, Simone spent nine years in compliance at a leading debt management charity. It was there that she began developing personal leadership programmes for students who, like her, felt left behind. Her methods worked—so well that students predicted grades 2 and 3 began achieving grades 5, 6, and 7+. Some rose by two to three levels in just one academic year.
Now a recognised transformational speaker, resilience and leadership coach, and licensed relaxation therapist, Simone has delivered talks to over 10,000 people. She’s been featured in national press and was honoured with an invitation to meet Queen Camilla in recognition of her impact—bringing personal leadership development and literature, in partnership with the National Literacy Trust, to disadvantaged communities.
Through every workshop, coaching session, and keynote, Simone’s mission is clear:
To help people and organisations bounce back, break through, and breathe—because performance and wellbeing both matter.
Whether you’re a student struggling with confidence, a professional searching for clarity, or a leader trying to inspire change in your team—Simone’s story is your reminder that no matter where you start, transformation is possible.
Because you matter. Your voice matters. And the world needs the best of what’s inside you.
